The end of the year always makes me (and other people, I'm sure) think back on the past 363 days or so and is a ripe time for reflection. On the good things, the bad, and the highlights. As always I am especially grateful for all the people I have to give my love to, to talk with, to hold hands with, to just BE WITH. 2009 has been amazing but despite its ups there are also downs. This year, I am particularly glad for social networking! Facebook, Twitter and Tumblr have been invaluable companions and an incredible link to my old life back in Singapore. And perhaps the thing that I am most grateful for upon hindsight, are my housemates! Seriously could not have survived the year without them. The nightly dinners first in front of Min's laptop watching Family Guy (giggity) and then in front of the telly fixated on Masterchef and Two and a Half men and the various friday and saturday night movies. The attempts at 'going out of Sydney', the shopping, the overnighters, the attempted studying, the smoke alarm disasters, the decomposing food, the late night talks around the dining table or on someone's un-vacuumed floor. I'll remember everything, and I just hope next year I'll be able to pull through without them just 20 ft away from me.

My room in my very first apartment, felt like home so much and because I had put in so much heart to make it my own: polaroids, posters, photos, cushions and little touches, and of course because I shared it with such wonderful people!!

and because Yvette is the only one with livej, I can afford to be openly biased here heehee shhh
THANK YOU FOR YOU YVETTE SEOW!

NATANIAAA who is like my bitching/eating/everything partner in crime, I'm so glad you're in Sydney with me you poot.

And of course, I may not be super close to my siblings but I know that they've got my back no matter what, and I've got theirs.

And definitely the chance to reunite with my extended but very very dysfunctional family.

But there's still nothing like the love I come home to, and the reason I fly 3912 miles back.

This year was also full of flying! My private joke with myself is that I flew in airplanes more than I took MRT. My holidays to BKK last year, back to sg in May and also to visit Keish in Brisbane, June to Melb, July to the UK, September (I think) to Tokyo and Nikko, and to SFO and Hawaii in Nov/Dec, and off to Bangkok again tomorrow.

And something that I'll remember and cherish for a long long time, is Ness flying up to see me and only me (heehee)!!! It was freezing and she hates the cold, and every night we would lie awake under 3 blankets, me in shorts and tshirt and her in her socks, leggings, pyjama pants and sweater, and talk a bit or swop iphones to play each other's games and gradually fall into dreamland.

So thank you Nessa I
♥ you!
And thank you, 2009, for being more amazing than 2008, and here's to everyone-- wishing you an even better 2010. I'm gonna rock it, and I hope you do too.
xoxo, J
